Right to Read Week 2017!

Right to Read Week is March 20th and 24th! This year, Jeff Miller will visit East Woods on March 21st – 22nd. Jeff will debut his adventure book series The Nerdy Dozen - part action movie, part slapstick comedy. He is originally from Kent, Ohio and is known for his creative story telling.  Pre-purchased books will be autographed by Jeff Miller - students will get to meet him during the book signings! Date Activity Description
Mon 3/20 Coding Day Teachers will be provided with information on coding for their classrooms.  
Teachers will be asked to set aside time during the day for the students to try these activities.
Tues 3/21 Super Star Day
Students are encouraged to dress up or wear a t-shirt from their favorite super star/super hero.
Wed 3/22 Camo Day
Students will be encouraged to wear camo and their dog tags.
Thurs 3/23 Pajama Party day - Snuggle up With a Good Book! Students will be encouraged to wear pajamas and bring a book to read.  Teachers are encouraged to set aside a time for students to read as a class.
Fri 3/24 Nerd Day/Crazy Hair Day! Gaming Fun. Students are encouraged to dress up like a “Nerd” and/or do crazy things with their hair.  Students may also bring in a device or game to play.  Teachers are encouraged to set aside time for the kids to “Game”  PTO will provide snack for game time.

During Right to Read Week – “Mission – READING” dog tags will be on sale for $1.00.  All proceeds will be used for the “I Can Fund A Library” Project.  Students are raising money to buy books for the Barberton East Elementary School.
