Author Troy Cummings is visiting Evamere, Ellsworth Hill and McDowell for Right to Read Week, and activities are planned for students all week long. Ellsworth Hill is asking that students read at least 80 minutes during Right to Read Week—that’s just 20 minutes a day for 4 days.  Each student who meets the goal by Friday can fill out a ticket to go into a drawing.  One student from each class will be chosen to “compete” with Mrs. Filomena in a Minute to Win It activity in front of the whole school! Donate books to McDowell used book sale

Extra, Extra Read All About It!  Every year McDowell PTO sponsors a used book sale in April. All books collected are up for sale, and the kids can come and purchase new books to read for $.50. As spring cleaning begins, please consider donating any gently used books that your kids no longer want. These can be brought to McDowell now, and we will store them until the event. McDowell Used Book Sale: April 9-11

McDowell’s annual Used Book Sale will take place April 9-11! The book sale is available to all McDowell students. Each student’s class will have a special time scheduled to visit and shop for books at the sale during the school day. All books are only $.50 each! 7th/8th grade dance: March 15

The 7th and 8th grade dance will be held March 15, from 7-9 p.m.  Tickets: $5.00 during lunch that week at the Bookstore or $10.00 at the door  REGISTER ONLINE Featuring: DJ, dancing, cornhole, board games, art table. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.
